the best, easiest and cheapest solution would be to open an eBay store ... then you are included in eBay searches automatically .. .. plus Google searches might throw some of your items up in results.

In eBay you would have your own 'store', with just your products in it. And you would get worldwide customers if you wanted them!

Another alternative might be Google Clicks advertising...

I put links below to get you started...

Hope that helps

Read "Guerrilla Marketing" by J. Levinson. While every idea might not work, there is a kernel of information that with a little re-working can work for you. My favorite is a standard size postcard that has a photo that visually says everything about your business, with the other side bullet points about your business. Logo and business address, web site and telephone number should be on this side as well. This postcard can be a direct mail piece, a business card and your brochure. There are printing companies that specialize in printing postcards- check out US Print as one possible source. They do "gang" printing- it means 10-15 business days but low prices. There are lots of terrific ideas- and he has several follow-up books that can give you ideas in other area. Try teaching classes in Community Ed program- low return but cheap way of getting PR. And, I have found instant recognition as an "expert" in my field- has led to lots of articles in the local press. That has turned into real business and people recognize me.

What about linking it into to Ebay? Everytime I search for ANYTHING at all on the net, Ebay always pops up in the top 5 searches ...

Best form of advertising ever, is Word of Mouth. Perhaps you could hold a party in someone's house, prepare some leaflets and get people to take them into their work for you?

Alternatively, why not contact your local newspaper and see if they are interested in running a story about "local person sets up on-line retailer" type article - link it into Mother's Day/Easter etc., etc,.

Very best of luck - hope it all works out for you.

Getting lots of traffic to your site is key. Google AdWords is great for generating traffic but it can cost you a fortune if you don't know what you're doing.

But don't worry, there's lots of free ways to generate traffic: article submissions, directories, newsletters, forums and discussion groups can each bring you a steady flow of traffic when used effectively. To learn more, just Google any of those terms or check out the special report at the link below:

Small Business Marketing Strategy: Target the up-and-coming search engines

While Google still rules the roost when it comes to Internet search engines, and Yahoo is firmly entrenched in second spot, a number of new start-ups are hoping to give them a run for their money. And a good small business marketing strategy would be to check them out and see how you can make them work for your site!

Some of the new up-and-comers include:

Powerset (www.powerset.com): A "natural language" search engine

Hakia (www.hakia.com): A "meaning-based" search engine

Wikia(www.wikia.com): A "community-based" search engine

ChaCha(www.chacha.com): A "social networking-based" search engine

Snap (www.snap.com): A search engine that offers visual previews

It's a smart small business marketing strategy to continue optimizing for the Google, Yahoo, and MSN search engines as they are by far and away the most popular -- but niche search engines could provide new opportunities to reach your market. Be sure to check them out!

Build inbound links to your website.

Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

http://www.avivadirectory.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=kahmer

http://www.kahmer.com

http://www.joeant.com

The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank

with Yahoo / Google / MSN.

Also work on your meta tags. Here is an

article on how they work: http://www.richkahmer.com/meta-tags.html
