I was taking pictures of my client and the owner walked up with his high powered camera and offered to take pictures of her hair. I allowed him but when I left the salon to work for myself I forgot about the pics. Now they are posted on the salon's website advertising for them. Can I do anything about that?

If YOU have the release form from the clients then YOU can legally use those pictures. If The salon owner also had them fill out a release form or if he has a copy of the ones you got them to sign then he can use the same pics also.

If he doesn't have any type of release form for each of the clients then THEY can make him take down their pictures. You can't make him do that , only they could.

Truth of the matter is this may be wasted energy, get new pictures (with release forms) and build YOUR business.

Ha!! yeah, since you have the release they can't really use it on their website. It'd be a different story of course if they had it. But obviously they don't. You should tell your former boss person that they should take it down, cuz they can get in trouble since they don't have the release form. Your Clients, Your Release Form, Your Pictures.

First off, why are they "your clients" when you just said "when I left the salon to work for myself"....so you didn't at the salon. The owner needs permission from the people photographed...not you (unless you're their parent).

I wouldn't worry about it because when someone goes into the salon and looks for that style, they may ask who did it and if the owner has a heart he will tell them you don't work there anymore and give them your salon. And if the style looks that good and they don't know how to do it they will lose customer, karma baby!
