First of all what do you mean by a quality classifieds website? If I am not mistaken then probably you might be in search of good user friendly classified websites that can maximize the exposure for your ad by sending it through the various search engines. If this is what you want to find then in my opinion there are the good blends of old and new free classified websites which are maximizing the user’s ad exposure by placing it in many search engines so that at the end the user may find the answer for his ads. In my view there are plenty of free classified websites of this kind and the few of them with the research I noticed are good. I am listing them out. So you can satisfy yourself to a great extent by placing your free ads in these websites.

Try this list (in the source) of free classifieds websites. Some of these classifieds not only serve the India market, other countries are also covered as well. Surf the website, go the the appropriate category to post free ads. Have a nice weekend.

i'm starting out in online marketing too.
my husband *had* a used-car business, and he sold more cars through www.craigslist.org than any other site. he just posted a good, honest blurb about the car, and some pictures, and i swear, the calls would come at all times of the night (i'd give an email and not a phone number for this reason!).
his business didn't make it because people thought that they could get a brand new car for $1,000, not because his ads or the site were bad. it was just the people. have an inexpensive product (not cars!), and the site will help a lot.
best of luck!!!

well its not really a classified site but it will definatly help you with your advertising methods. Also the best place I found to place classified ads in on myspace or facebook. Just about any of the social sites are a great place to start.
