Promote my most expensive domain name?

I don't want SEDO to evaluate my domain name, I like to build a simple site, asking for 20 million USD, sorry, I can't give you my domain name, it only contain 7 letters, that catch everyone's eyes.

Don't need your sour grape comment(because you don't own the fabulous dot com name), only need your help to promote my site, to gain maximum exposure with minimum cost.

My goal is to spread this domain name 'all over the world', try to get the VC, after get the funding, next step is to build the complicated website and heavy marketing.

If your answer is best, I will reward your help.

Any prominent domain name must have a high PR on Google and on other major search engines (Yahoo and MSN) and failing that listing, the domain name's true worth lies heavily on branding and other market promotions which often involves major expenditures for media and publication. If you truly want to garner a $20Mill sales price, you'll have to spend lots of money to raise the level of interest to that sales price.

its good that you do not want to use SEDO but just remembet that SEDO and other such companies take care of many formalities...



still if you want to sell the domain by yourself i would suggest-



1. Advertise in newspapers (as this would attract business owners quite a lot)



2. Tell your friends (who knows someone needs your services and domain)



3. find web master forums like sitepoint.com and talk about it there



but remember that without any third party like SEDO it is generally difficult to close the deal with trust and integrity..

a new domain name with no history and no activity is not worth $200, never mind $20 mill - especially if it's NOT a .COM webname - you have to build the complicated website and show revenue before you will attract any investors - example - Facebook, Myspace, etc
