Given that analytics software solutions can cost anywhere from free to thousands of dollars per month, it's hard to declare one as "best".

On the free end, Google Analytics will get the job done. It has some limitations in the way it gives you data, but it's easy to set up and the interface is nicely intuitive.

On the low-end of paid, I link HitsLink. It's not as pretty as Google Analytics, but it does a great job of feeding you the data in a straight-forward manner so that you can work with it separately.

On the high-end of paid, Omniture rocks. Tons of data given to you, but it's complex to use. On the other hand, if you're spending $4K per month or more on analytics, you probably have a team to work with it.

There are many good top ten web analytics software lists available if you search. I think this list is up to the mark:

According to this list, these are the best:

Clicktale

iWebTrack

OneStat

Statcounter

Google Analytics

Yahoo Analytics

BLVDStatus

Webtrends

ShinyStat

CrazeEgg

There may be others but as far as I know, these are the best search analytics and web analytics providers. Most of them offer a free account, however, if you are running a business, you can purchase the paid account.
