Re: SEO your page SEO is not a one-off action, but an ongoing process, and the difficulty level depends on what you want to rank for. Generally, appearing for your own blog or company name is (usually) easy. However, getting to 1st place ranking for a highly competitive term like 'holidays' is likely to cost $millions and take years. If you are serious about making money from a web site, the first thing you need is full control of the site content, and a developer who will give you ongoing support. Part of SEO is making changes and additions constantly and testing multiple variations of keywords, landing pages and layouts. It is likely to be expensive, and it is often cheaper if you can either do most of the work yourself, or directly hire someone. Also, bear in mind that you need different people with different skills: o A Designer can make the site look good, but that is all. Do NOT use a designer for SEO, as there are few that truly do both. o A Developer will turn the design into a working site, and get all the tools and gadgets working. Some developers can and do double up as SEO people, and some can also do design. o A content writer will write content that is appealing. Good content writers are also aware of SEO requirements, and can write pages to suit those needs. A content writer will also use feedback from analysis and reporting to determine what new pages need written, or old ones changed. o An SEO specialist will work with all the above, ensuring site structure and navigation work in SEO, that the code has all the correct elements on all sections, and that content is properly optimised. They will also generally do a lot of analysis and reporting, using this to advise of improvements and changes, and may well also do off-site SEO, gaining inbound links through various means.
