There are many ways that would help increase traffic to your website:
1st try to get more back links to your website and the easiest way to do that is by submitting your website to free web directories such as:
http://www.lii.org
http://www.dmoz.org
http://www.surformation.com
2nd Try promoting your website on social networking websites such as twitter
3rd and most importantly, provide quality content, this is an indirect way to get back links by genuinely driving people to link to your website

Hi Kate, The truth is it is a long process and you need to be patient, very patient indeed. Just for a moment, forget it is a website and pretend it is an actual retail store. What would you do then? Simple things really like having your web address on business cards, letter heads and any marketing pages perhaps in free newspapers, or anything like that you can think of. This is all for free as you would have these anyway. Now it is an online resource and you want to get people to your site so the answer is to tell as many people as you can about it. Start with friends and family and hopefully they will tell their friends as well. That should get you some starting traffic. Then I would recommend writing articles and submitting those to the many online article companies. Then participate in any forums relating to your website. Make good comments without advertising too much and build up a trust and then start advertising. Any social net work site is good for advertising such as face book, quiddo, digg, delicious etc That take a lot of work but the good nes is it is all free. I have done this and it took me about 3 months to build everything and get it up and running. My daily traffic is now about 250+ a day and I haven't paid anything so it does work but it does take a lot of your time and effort. Good luck Now let's go

3 months is not long time belive me, if you have brand new site driveing big traffic can take even 12 months. It happens because for new websites you can`t submit more than few links daily, so most competetive keywords needs a lot more. But there are many other ways to get good traffic to your website. Think you can easily try onlywire.com it is semi automated social submitter, submit only to the best ones sites Page rank 5+ . I am using it since year and after sibmussion I have 50-100 visitors at once. Try it. But anyway you should consider proffesional seo services to drive constant traffic to your website.

Unfortunately, your metatag is too short and there is noticeably missing the and metatags.
Here's a helpful tutorial based on a webmaster article from google.com that may be helpful to you:
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one's goods and services.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google's spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.
Good luck!
