Is it because that ads touch your emotional side? (funny, sad, etc)
Do you think a controversial communication is the best way to be memorable? (ex. adbuster campaign)

Funny is usually a good thing, but it can be bad also. A really really funny commercial to me [since I am a baby brother] is the one with the boy and girl on the beach. The boy has his finger pointing at his sister with his hand a few inches from her arm and he is saying, "I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you." I laugh just thinking about the commercial. But, I have no idea what the commercial is for.

Another one from commercial history is the "Joe Isuzu" character. Everyone knew who Joe Isuzu was and knew all the commercials and knew the product. but, Isuzu's sales either remained the same or even declined in some markets during this ad campaign. Point being, make sure that not only does the commercial get potential customers' attention, but they know the product being marketed. Bottom line though, make sure it's selling a product people think is worth spending their hard earned money to buy.

Emotion.

As a singer, I find that the music an ad employs can also sometimes be important. (But I guess that's an emotional response as well because the music helps to evoke a sort of emotional response in a way.)
